This textbook is intended for training specialists in biology, bioengineering, and biotechnology.
This textbook provides a summary of the theoretical part of the course "Microalgae Biotechnology," developed for students of the Faculty of Biology at Lomonosov Moscow State University. The course reflects the current state of biotechnology, based on the cultivation of phototrophic microorganisms for the production of a wide range of bioproducts and the recycling of various wastes. The book summarizes both global practices in industrial microalgae cultivation and the authors' 25 years of experience. It covers the physicochemical and biological principles of industrial microalgae cultivation and their processing into bioproducts, as well as the use of microalgae cultures for environmental protection and achieving sustainable development goals.
