This publication is intended for students of social sciences and master's programmes in demography, as well as those interested in depopulation issues and the sociological justification of family and demographic policy priorities in Russia and abroad.
This textbook is based on the results of sociological studies of demographic behaviour conducted in Russian regions from 1970 to 2024. Population sociology provides a scientific explanation for changes caused by the social consequences of population decline, which is due to the spread of low-childhood lifestyles.
