For undergraduate and graduate students in geological departments of universities and specialists using seismic exploration data in their research.
This textbook examines the characteristics of wave pattern formation on seismic profiles, without which interpretation errors can occur: the shape of the reflected pulse, the relationship between horizontal and vertical scales, distortion of the waveforms on time sections, the identification of noise waves in seismoacoustic data, and more. Definitions of seismic complexes and seismic facies are provided. Seismic data analysis is proposed for the study of various geological objects, and their mapping features are discussed.
