Selected Chapters of Medical Biochemistry. Diseases of Mature Age

The textbook is based on a course of lectures given by the author at the Faculty of Biology and the Faculty of Bioengineering and Bioinformatics of Lomonosov Moscow State University. The article examines the metabolic features characteristic of atherosclerosis, obesity, hypertension, osteoporosis and neurodegenerative diseases. It describes the role of mutations, lifestyle and chronic inflammation that occurs in aging cells in their pathogenesis.
