The monograph raises a number of problems widely discussed in modern science: the specific features of the social thought of Italian Renaissance humanism, the correlation of the ideals formed in it and their practical refraction, the elitism of the humanistic movement, the continuity of the humanist ideas of the 15th century and Renaissance culture of the 16th century.
