This publication is intended for senior students of physics departments at universities (Physics major, Fundamental and Applied Physics) and other natural science and engineering majors.
This textbook covers topics in hydrodynamics, physical and chemical kinetics, shock wave propagation in liquids and solids, detonation theory, and applications of explosion physics related to the processing of materials by explosions, cavitation, and cumulation. Particular attention is paid to traditional and modern experimental methods of research, visualization, and recording of fast processes, as well as the use of explosions to obtain extreme states of matter.
