The book is devoted to the description of species, hybrids and varieties of representatives of the genus Chubushnik (Philadelphus L.), which have been grown and observed for several decades in the collection of the open ground of the REC — Botanical Garden of Peter I of the Faculty of Biology of Lomonosov Moscow State University. A detailed description of cultivated varieties and natural species is given, indicating their origin, biological properties, data on reproduction, agricultural technology and decorative use are given. Special attention is paid to the history of breeding work and achievements of domestic scientists. Based on long-term observations, data on the hardiness and phenology of plants of this genus in the climate of the Middle zone of European Russia are presented.
